| I want some 7.1 computer speakers, preferably with adjustable bass so I can crank it down for shoegazing indie and crank it up for FPS gaming and club techno. Ideas? |
|
Logitech Speakers I have these for my computer, and I love them. I was surprised how great they are for this price. YOu can't go wrong with them. |
Those look good, but 7.1 would be preferable. I can get 7.1 out of my card, so I'd like to get the full performance out of them. These Creative ones look good. |
Also, alot of games are only encoded in 5.1..... |
| Here is a review of some great speakers at Maximum PC. I have the Logitech and like them. The 5.1s. Good luck. |

I have a Logitech Z-680 speaker system, and I love it. It ALMOST sounds better than my home theater system (Yamaha receiver, Paradigm speakers), it really is that good. They don't make the Z-680 anymore, the replacement for it is the Z-5500. Here is a refurbished Z-5500 for $190 Both are 5.1 systems, but that is really all that you need. You would be better off with a badass 5.1 than a so-so 7.1 |

THE best non Hometheater system 7.1 for computer would be the 700 Watt RMS Creative Gigaworks S750. Look for the RMS wattage. Do not buy the ebay 1000 watt speakers as they are abou 5 watt RMS. \ Edit... these are top of the line. The bass is VERY strong. I have to keep it at 1 tick bass (out of seven) in my apartment. It rivals my 500 RMS watt sub in my HT. Jeff |

I have the z-5500. They arn't bad for the price. I liked my klipsch set better (the high crossover of the logitechs causes some sounds that should be able to be played through the sats end up going to the sub and can make things sound a bit different, the sub while big doesn't go as low as it should be able to considering it's size and is a little bit boomy), but the logitech ones don't die if you turn them up above 45% volume like the klipsch ones did. Not sure if Klipsch ever fixed that, and didn't care to try and find out after 3 dead sets. |
