what kind of lawmower do you use .....I just cut the front, back, and side lawn of my house with a push reel type lawnmower you know no motor just arm and leg powered..... kind of like one found here I got it for 5 dollars from a yard sale when my gas mower got stolen.....if you have a level yard it works wonders but any uneven parts or thick crab grass/weed not so much...great workout to boot. so what do you use...... |
When I was like 10 (about ten years ago) I started mowing people's lawns in my neighborhood. I ended up buying a self propelled mower for myself because I hated my parent's mower and when it died, I managed to convince my parents to get a self propelled Toro (it was way, way too expensive), but it kicked ass. Mowing lawns without a self propelled mower in a hilly area sucks. We still have it. We got rid of our awful Honda riding mower when we moved. We had the twin blade, 14HP one, it ran, but it sucked. The belts came undone constantly, and the "safety" features did nothing but piss off the operator. |

My wife has a reel/rotary mower like that and loves it. My yard is a little larger, and I've got an old Sears gas mower (not self-propelling though) - but when it breaks, I'll probably buy a reel as well. It's a fun nostalgic feeling, making me remember being a kid again, mowing with one of those. |

Just got a Toro Personal Pace self-propelled mower last week. www.toro.com/home/mowers/recycler/20017.html First self-propelled I've ever had and I'll NEVER go back. My lot is just a bit under a 1/4 acre and pretty level except for a bit in the back, so it's more than enough. Makes it almost *fun* to do the lawn compared to using the cheap assed crap my dad used to buy way back when  .At my old place I had a B&D electric (corded) mower. Did the job OK but was a total bitch dealing with the cable. |

My Dad uses a Kubota 4310 diesel tractor with a 12 foot befco mower. My Dad has really bad allergies and a big lawn over 5 acres so he bought the Kubota because it has a cab and air filters. The nice part is it has A/C and a radio so he can mow the lawn in any weather. |
