Unlike the "Minutemen", they do not dictate rules to their volunteers that prohibit the carrying of proper mil-spec long irons, and they are not afraid of camouflage clothing. And they don't just sit in lawn chairs with binos and make cell phone calls to the Border Patrol, either. Also unlike the "Minutemen", they have up until now kept a very low profile and shunned any public mention of their efforts. The name of this group is the First Defenders Corps (FDC). Though they have been around a while, they have just recently put up a new website (their first). www.firstdefenderscorps.com I can tell you from first-hand field experience alongside these Operators that they are real players and that they are doing an excellent job on our southern border. They are making a big difference in the number of illegals coming across and they have been significantly slowing the northward flow of drugs and terrorists in every place that they conduct operations. First Defenders Corps has been working closely with certain entities within the US Border Patrol (that prefer to remain anonymous) and they have caused very significant redeployment of BP agents and helicopters into hot areas that First Defenders Corps has given the BP intel on. Because of the ever-increasing volume of cross-border insurgents and drug-smugglers, FDC now must dramaticallly expand their base of support. Anyone with a SpecOps background is invited to apply and to volunteer their services alongside these highly-skilled Operators. They also need folks with experience in tactical Field Support operations. First Defenders Corps has been "taking the battle to the enemy", and they have had some significant successful operations in hostile areas along our southern border, areas where the Border Patrol is afraid to go, especially at night. These guys operate in full tactical mode, in areas of our border that are really under the operational control of the mexican crime cartels. They have conducted ops against the armed, uniformed mercenary troops of the crime cartels, and against the uniformed regular mexican army troops that routinely escort the people- and drug-smugglers that come across our borders. There are today a bit fewer of these drug-smuggling terrorists operating along our border, because of the actions of First Defenders Corps. Because of the highly sensitive nature of their operations, everyone within the First Defenders Corps uses their radio call sign rather than their real names. These are not casual players in the high-stakes game of border security, these are highly-trained, highly-skilled professionals who have volunteered to participate in tactical operations against well-funded, well-equipped foreign enemy paramilitary troops, using nothing more than their own private resources. Members volunteer their own time away from jobs and family, and each Operator pays his own way to participate in these tactical missions. They’ve been around now for some time but before recently have been very secretive in everything they do, the property they operate on is privately owned so I’m sure there’s no government interference, as long as all operations are conducted on private property everything is legit as far as I know Rosenrot |

How dare they think that they can defend their own private property!!!!! Hell, we all know they would serve America better by posting on supposed "freedom" supporting websites, like Arfcom, about how pissed off they are about the government for not protecting our borders. They could even go so far as posting daily  about how many places they post about how pissed off they are. They could even do the ultimate and post about how they write furious letters to their congressmen. Yah, that would be so much more helpful than doing something so stupid, so Anti-American like protecting their property or even protecting America from invasion. How dare they think that actions are better then talk or posting on some website about how mad they are!!! Geez..you guys...sometimtes I swear I am on a Socialist website......

Actually, you are on a realist website. Realists know that men of action who are busy doing things, don't have time to post about it on websites. Clandestine operations posted on public internet forums are no longer clandestine. Real " Operators " don't post their plans, talk about their plans or disclose their plans until they are an ancient history lesson, and usually not even then. I note that this goes back to the militias. I picture the proverbial 350 pound guy with an SKS and a springfield ( too cheap for Colt ) .45 demanding to be called colonel. |

They can start calling themselves "operators" when they can prove to me that a MAJORITY of their members are former Tier 1 assets w/actual operational experience. While I applaud what they are attempting to do, they way they are going about it is comical, embarrassing and stero-typical. Congratulations on playing into the 'lawn-chair dangerous redneck with a gun' cliche. I have been a big city swat cop for a while now and I don't consider myself to be an "Operator" even though I have been shot/shot at/shot dudes. Mostly, I think of myself as a 'Participator' with better training and faster reation times. I dub them clowns until forced to eat crow (which I view as remote).BC |

So tell us what you really know? Either they're wanna-bes playing sojer or they have been committing a variety of secret crimes. Like it or not deadly force is not legal to use against trespassers, sniping Mexicans, although they might enjoy it, ain't legal no matter where you are unless fired upon first. And you really think that these firefights would remain totally secret from legitimate sources of news?(inside and outside of the MSM). Me I tend to believe more in people who aren't afraid to use their real names and show their real faces. |
You may be right, however I and several friends have contacted the FDC several times requesting membership info and the first thing they ask in replies is prof you belonged to a special forces unit. So if in fact they are what they claim to be they have earned the tag “operator.” They were secretive about their existence up until now, not future operations, lets face it telling Mexican nationals your planning on patrolling a certain area is not going to persuade them in anyway to rethink their position so why bother trying to cover them up. |

Of course they are! Didn't you read the job posting for the NMC gig on USAJobs.com? It clearly states that you have to run around in the desert on your off-time, rousting "undocumented landscapers". You know....during the 3.71 hours a month you're not on the road with "glowy" stuff. ETA: First time I have ever seen official (i.e. public acknowledgement) of a Q. It is foolish to believe the original post in entirety without some sort of verification. It is equally foolish to dismiss the original post in entirety without knowing the facts. Not one person says it's not. For a group like that to have members calling themelves "operators" et al smacks of idiotism. If all those guys are SOCOM...Special Forces, SEAL, Force Recon, PJ.... Ok....I'll defer to the "operator" tag. When you get old like me, all you need to hear is a red flag here, a red flag there, and, usually the whole tree is rotten. |
