The camera is with her out of town until next week.

But I got a 1 carat, princess cut, in a platinum band.  Made a friend of mine go with me to help pick it out and she's a jewelery nut and quite knowledgeable about that stuff so it's definitely a good looking ring.  Now just need to find her size and get it resized for her before she gets it.

I can't understand why you would pay so much for a ring.  Many a good ring can be had for less than 1K.  If it would make a difference to her then she is not right for you.  If you do it just because then I guess hats off to you.

I payed that much because she's worth it and I don't want some shitty rock all cloudy, yellow, and with inclusions.

How bout this then....My wifes ring has one of my grandmothers stones.  We had it set in a band my wife liked.  It appraised for about 8k and we only paid for the gold.....I am one lucky sob!

Good deal then, not trying to knock you at all.  I got a colorless SI2 1/4Ct engagement ring for my fiance for $750 (18K gold with platnum mounting).  If she is worth it to you then that is all that matters.  Cheers on your wedding!!

Can't buy me love, love
Can't buy me love

I'll buy you a diamond ring my friend if it makes you feel alright
I'll get you anything my friend if it makes you feel alright
'Cause I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love

I'll give you all I got to give if you say you love me too
I may not have a lot to give but what I got I'll give to you
I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love

Can't buy me love, everybody tells me so
Can't buy me love, no no no, no

Say you don't need no diamond ring and I'll be satisfied
Tell me that you want the kind of thing that money just can't buy

I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love

In before someone says they gave their Fiance a Paracord ring, a ring made of a .50BMG casing, or a ring covered in OD green Gun Kote.

My husband proposed with his grandmother's ring.

It was actually part of a set; both wedding bands match it.

I'd have been happy with a promise and a simple gold band.

My mother-in-law cut a glass with her heavy-duty diamond while doing dishes.  Now, she turns it around when she does them.

Ah yes....sooner or later Love makes fools out of all of us. I can only hope and pray that your marriage will be a long and happy one. Getting Married is the easy part...Staying Happily Married is a bit like staying on the back of a pissed off tiger going hell for broke through a jungle.

Best of luck

Congratulations and good luck.  If you lose the ring, never mind Charlie Chaplin & the washer routine.  Draw it one her finger like Harold Lloyd did.  Those silent film stars will never be equaled.

Old Love Letters
There were some love letters
So tattered and torn
They were old with age
And with hands had been worn.

Words of love were written
Upon the pages so tattered
I over-looked the crumbling
It was the words that mattered.

Could it have been me
That the words were written about?
Oh, that happened many years ago
And there is certainly no doubt.

There were plans spoken of
That never did occur
I do remember such a love
I remember it as though it were.

I remember it as though
Youth had not passed
And love had reached fulfillment
And forever did last.

The old love letters
In seclusion they lay hid
Among words of memories
That to me did bid.

My love, my love, my only love
You did bid me from the past
To come and read your words
Yes, the words of love that will last.

The bundle of love letters
In privacy had been kept
In my heart I remembered them
And had secretly wept.

But today I opened the pages
And with trembling I did read
Of love words spoken to me
And my heart pounded, indeed.

So carefully written
Were love words so sure
I knew why I loved him
And why the love did endure.

But amidst the crumbling pages
Those words do now lie
For the paper had reached its end
And said its last good-bye.

But forever in my heart
The love words will always live
I will remember fondly
The love he did give.

Gently tucked away in my heart
With the crumbling pages gone away
I will always remember and smile
About the lost love I found today.
