~~when I right click with my mouse the "menu" on windows XP system doesnt come up...I cant open links in new windows, copy, paste , etc~~

ETA: Open up you mouse settings in the control panel. should have a button configuration thingy that will allow you to test your buttons...

First choice would be to switch to a new mouse. If you don't have one, you could go to the Control Panel/Mouse and then switch the primary and secondary buttons, just as a test.
