| I'm doing a research paper and I'd like to know if there has ever been a country where the populace has been coerced in to socialism when the majority were armed and educated? |

I have no idea what you're writing about, but your premise sounds rather weak. First, how are you measuring socialism? Education? How armed a society is? The US is rather socialistic using some measuring sticks. Look at the real tax rates. Look at how much social spending is done, even towards non-citizens. The federal govt alone spends about a third of our nation's economy (3 trillionish budget per year). That's an aweful lot of spending 'for the people' in the name of the 'common good'. What do you mean by coerced? The Scandinavian countries are models of modern socialism and more or less freely went that path. |
