I have a 6-7 y/o Maytag top loader. It's been a great machine. 0 troubles.. 'til today.

Washed a load of clothes, and it performed flawlessly. Loaded with another load of clothes, spun selector, and NADA!

Won't fill or do anything. It's getting power as the red soak light will come on when selector knob is turned to pre-soak.

Went to a DIY site, and they suggested the problem was probably the "water inlet valve/solenoid."
Went to a repair supply store and purchased and installed a new one.

Still NADA!

It has always filled with water when the lid was open. so I don't think the problem is in the lid switch.

We have a one week old litter of Mastiff puppies, and we are going through lots of towels and sheets. I need this bugger to work.
Help!

Please tell us you don't have a Maytag NEPTUNE.

ETA:
Whew, you said "toploader." Neptune is frontloader. Whatever it costs to fix yours, you dodged a bullet there!

Good luck!
