no civilian p90 for me when i can get an AR upper in 5.7 soon www.rhinelandarms.com/ look under 5.7x28 |
Maybe someone doesntlike the ergonomics of the P90, so they get the same round in an AR? Whats the point of a 9mm upper, or .50 upper? Whats the point of a .22 upper or.45 upper? |
because they are actually different calibers, 5.7 is really just .223 lite, kind of defeats the purpose. |
|
9mm can be suppressed .50 doesn't require any explanation .45 can also be suppressed .22 is good for plinking, or for indoor ranges which only allow rifles in .22 but i don't see much point in 5.7 in an AR, but if that's your thing, go for it |
And ergonomically? I dont think a P90 is similiar to an AR. I mean, there both black, but beyond that...... |
Thats basically what I was getting at. Plus the current cost of 5.7x28 makes it seems even more of an odd purchase. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose

that's what i'm thinking. y'all are way too damn picky. i'm just happy that more black rifles and variations of existing rifles are being made... it could be a whole lot worse. |

And once again I ask...ergonomically? If you have a 5.7 pistol it would benice to have an "SMG" of the same caliber. |
|
That belongs on one of those californian single-shot/no-magwell lowers... Those ARE still legal in CA, ya know! You can also get the upper in CA since it's not a firearm! (given of course a side-ejection version) Compact 50-round mags is a nice thing, too. Despite it being in a smaller caliber, I like it! I'm sure it will kill someone/thing just as dead, too. |
Probably better. You know, the AR being nothing but a ridiculous overpower .22 rifle. Nothingbut a worthless mouse gun. Everyone knows 7.62x39mm is vastly superior to that piddly .223 round. I mean hell, I've passed kidney stones bigger then that cutesy little bullet in the 5.56............. |
huh? |
| Well I think it's all about the way the bullet performs now isn't it? supposedly the 5.7 breaks apart (Frangeable) and becomes more deadly just like the .223 EXCEPT that it does'nt need a long barrel to achive the high velocities that the .223 needs. Well that's what i read anyway. Combine that with it's low recoil and you got yourself a nice Killin gun! Also it was meant to penetrate soft body armor with a pistol length barrel. But i do think that the bullet needed for that is not being sold to civies. |
