Got a Canon BJC-80 printer....  It hates me now.

It's giving a carriage home position error.   Can't find a service manual anywhere online.

Anyone here do printer repair, and maybe could help me out with an answer ?

I can fix it myself....  Well, I COULD, if I knew how to do it.

Being broke, i just can't afford to bring it to a repair place.

Thanks for any help,

JB

Depending on its age, its probably not worth repairing.

I saw a new color Lexmark printer in Staples for $50.  With prices like that, nothing technological will be worth fixing.

Well, it's a small, portable type printer.....  I used to use it for my laptop, on jobs, back home...

I'd really like to fix it.  It always worked fine, and also has a scanner 'cartridge', that I paid a few bucks for.

I'm sure it CAN be fixed, I just can't find out HOW, yet....

I also don't HAVE 50 bucks to spend.......

Hoping we have some repair geeks here that can maybe get the info somewhere....

eta: I have a nice lexmark , too....  In a box.....

Too bad it uses so much damn ink, and the cartridges cost about 35 bucks EACH    Not to mention they keep drying out and are useless VERY quickly.....    Won't ever buy another Lexmark, that's for sure.

Lexmark has been throwing legal and technological roadblocks in the way of third-party ink and laser printer cartridges.

You don't want to give them any of your money.
