We bought one of those spendy Cyclone type vacuums a while back.  Everything has been fine until we moved into a new house (with cheaper carpet).  Anyway, it has been shedding “carpet pills” like crazy for two months.  My wife has plugged up the vacuum tight.

I finally unclogged it and taped the hose to the shop vac hose.  This arrangement works great but is unwieldy.

Does anyone make a beater-bar attachment for the shop vac?

Buy a carpet rake, get the Grandi groom. Use some elbow grease and rake the carpet aggressively, shop vac up the loose carpet fuzz and you should be good. Or have the carpet professionally cleaned.

Good idea, thanks.
