Can dogs grow fur on their feet where priviously there was none. So, I have a pug. My wife wanted a small dog like a pomeranian. I said hell no, I can't walk that thing and retain my dignity. So we decided on the pug. Ugly enough so I can walk her with my head held high, and small enough for the wife. Anyway. It snows and the dog goes outside for about 3 minutes and come back in limping because her feet are so cold. I look and there is no fur between her toes or pads. A week or two role by and there is still snow on the ground but the dog is tromping around for 10-15 minutes no sweet. I look at her paws this time, and now there is fur between her toes and pads. Only two possibilities. I missed it before, but I don't think so because I distinctly remember thinking, ahh, thats why she is limping. Or, the fur grew in because of the cold. Anyone know?? |

Be sure you clean & lube the fold of skin on the bridge of its' nose. Pugs are notorous for not having this done, I've heard. BTW, pugs are cool dogs, IMO. Smaller than a bulldog but still looks & thinks like one. ![]() They're not the sharpest knife in the drawer though. Next time, get a boxer! |
She is 8... Yeah, I didn't see any ice when it happened...it is possible... I would just swear that there was no fur on em the first time I looked. |
My lab will get ice between his toes and it will actually push the hair up so it looks like there is none there. I jsut bring him in and let him warm up for a couple of minutes and then he wants back out. |
