I have Dish network now and have thinking about changing over to Direct because it appears to be a little cheaper for what you get and Dish dropped OLN. Has anyone else switched and why. I would also like to know what Direct users like about Direct?

I have dish now but had direct TV.

I think direct TV is better, you seem to get a few better channels and when I had direct TV it was mroe reliable. (That could have been my new location vs. my old though)

We switched to DirectTv because Dish had terrible customer service and always going out in the
slightest rain..Direct has been great so far..

I've had Dish and hated it. for the past year now I've had Direct TV and I'm "ok" with it. (nothing like 200 fucking channels of "paid programming" when you want to watch something late night, assholes)

Me too, maybe it wasn't local and it's the service.

I'm so pissed that Dish dropped OLN. They did it the day I had Dish installed

All I have ever heard is how awful Direct's customer service is.  I have had Dish since 1999 and will be sticking with it.  Very happy with it.

I had DirecTV and now have Dish.  I may switch back later.  Maybe not.  I have not had problems with either one not working in the rain, and I live in the Seattle area.  One time it got fuzzy and I had to go scrape ice and snow off the dish.

DirecTV customer service sucks.  Dish has more adult PPV channels.

+1

DirecTV customer service is awful. I have had both and prefer Dish Network and for the most part Dish is slightly cheaper with better programming packages.

DISH here.  We priced both DISH and DirecTV, and DISH came out like 10 bucks/mo cheaper.  I'm kind of upset they dropped OLN, but I'm sticking with them.  Hopefully they'll get OLN back on the lineup before too long.

The reason DISH is cheaper is they don't allow programmer to hold them up... DISH not giving in to OLNs demands and dropping the channel is good thing and a plus, it keeps my cost down.

OLN will be back after they learn the lesson

Called Dish about my service.

They're trying to charge me $50 for a guy to come out.

I told them this has been going on for awhile.

I'm getting a manager on the line to see if he wants to keep me as a customer or not.

Both of their customer service sucks.

The menu loads up much quicker in Dish than DirecTV (in my experience).

I like my Dish.  Mom has DirecTV and hers goes out in hard rains.

Mine only goes out in 40+ mph gusts...
