My computer has been asking me for security certificates for practically every site i go on now. My wife has been on ebay alot lately so im not sure if she may have done something inadvertantly to screw things up. Any ideas?

My advice is to stop using internet explorer altogether, and download microsoft's anti-spware beta.
For browser, I prefre Mozilla Firefox.

I also recomend AVG free edition over Symantec and McCafee solutions that you have to PAY for.
Here are some links to get you in the right direction:

Click the tools menu at the top of I.E.
Click Internet Options from the menue
Click the security tab
Select default level for "internet" "local intranet" "trusted sites" and "restricted sites"
Click apply
Click the advanced tab
Click the "restore defaults" button
Click apply
Click ok
Close all browser shells
Restart IE and test

Even if it works, you might want to try firefox...

Hope this helps

Check the date that the computer thinks it currently is.  What you have described is common if you've recently changed the date and, say, put in "2004" instead of "2005".

In order to use the demo version of Nero that I have installed, I have to set the  date on my machine to mid-May, so I get that "security certificate not valid" error all the time.

(And before someone gripes about my using "trial" software past the due date -- Nero came with my CD drive, but I can't find the disk it came on, so I can't reinstall the legit version even though I already paid for it as part of the drive package.  Sigh.)
