I got a few of the new buffalo nickels before today, but it wasn't until I was just going through today's change that I ever noticed a buffalo on the back of a quarter. Usually I notice these things as I'm acquiring these state quarters as I get them in change.

Anybody else collecting the series?

No, but I do like to see buffalos on coinage for some reason.

I even bought a wildly over-priced commemorative buffalo silver dollar on e-bay a couple of years ago. I just had to have one!

Wisconsin can be hard to find because of the mistake on a couple of the dies. There are at least 2 variations from the official pattern, something to do with the extra leaves next to the corn. See illustrations for examples of variations.

Anyhow, the variation quarters drove most of the regular Wisconsisn quarters out of circulation.
