a few months ago someone posted a link for ordering a free quran from "Council on American-Islamic Relations. (a free targetwas the major suggestion)I mostly forgot about it. Yet every few weeks I would wonder why i never got my copy of it.

Well I got it today. I originaly ordered it so that I could read it not because I am Islamic or care to convert to Islam. I am agnostic but have read the bible cover to cover I wanted to read the Quran just as a learning tool.

Well this book they sent me was huge a hard cover book about 3&1/2" thick and the demensions of a phone book. Im not going to read it but I dont know if im going to shoot it either(My original Intent)

Did anyone else get this book.

That's correct, it is considered to be a corruption of Muhammad's revelations if it is not in arabic.
Seeing all the trouble we have in christianity over the differences in words (though shalt not kill/murder/etc) I can appreciate the reasoning behind keeping their holy book in the same language.

I ordered one too, havent gotten it yet, figured it was never coming but now maybe its almost here. I want to learn arabic, they offer it at my university and im going to look into it with my advisor on monday.

My dad, ret. Naval Aviator now an airline pilot, knows a couple guys that left the Navy to work for the CIA/FBI or other agencies. He said they told him if you can speak arabic you practically have a job, so im going to look into it.

It's pretty obvious most of us are no fans of Islam but it is equally obvious what the cnduct code says about religion bashing.

Don't do it.
