I have an old Pachinko machine that I am refurbishing. I use to play this exact machine when I was a kid. I remember that this machine required some sort of electricity to work. I remember some sort of big battery in the back of the unit. I definitely remember that it was not plugged into any wall outlet. There are some electrical markings on the back. I have very little knowledge on anything electrical so I was hoping that someone might be able to identify them and tell me what I need to get to power this thing. The two marking are right on top of each other just liked I type it. 10v(AC) 1A 10VA 24v(AC) 1.4A 33 VA What kind of batter do I need? This is the only distinguishable markings on the back. Everything else is in chines. |

How old is this thing? Sounds more like a tranformer spec than a battery spec with VA (volt amps) listed. Now, way back when (10's -30's maybe even 40's), they had some odd battery sizes they used to power tube radios and such that would have been in the 10-24 or more volt range but those are no longer available AFAIK. It looks like it needs 10 volts AC at 1 amp (= 10 watts) and 24 volts AC at 1.4 amp (= 33 watts) You just need to find a 110V transformer (or transformers) that has these output voltage ratings and equal or greater wattage. The 24V shouldn't be a problem, but 10V is a bit unusual to find off the shelf. Edited to add: The ariticles below mention 9V OR 10V will work. MUCH easier to find 9V AC transformers (Radio Shack). Just make sure that the 24V and 9V transformers can deliver 1 amp and 1.4 amp (or more) each. Good luck Ed |

Go to Home Depot, Lowes or any local hardware store from your area and ask for a control power transformer (50VA - 120V primary: 24V secondary) that should work. It is a small unit about 3"x3"x3" same size as doorbell/chime transformer you use at home. Somewhere around $20.00. VA =VoltAmps V=Voltage |
