So I went to check out their new title coming out called "GUN", so it asks you for your age to make sure you can see "mature" content. Ok no problem there, but THEN it wants a CREDIT CARD number!? It says it won't be charged but still, WTF why would you require a CC# to look at a preview for a game, give me a break!

It's like the fucking "free" pornsites that ask for a CC to prove your age but "Won't charge you"

that is messed up.  Just sent the following e-mail.

Why on earth would I give you a credit card number to check a website about a game you are making? Are you NUTS? With all the stolen credit card, SS#, etc going on today, I'm not about to give you a number. That is a very poor choice whoever made it.

It's their site, it's their product, it's their right, and it's their liability.

They will sell plenty of games, the main problem they have to worry about these days are the lawyered up mommies, and that's why they have the "cya" failsafes in place.

They don't care if you are mad, write an angry letter, or buy the game (they have plenty of other buyers, no need to worry about one who is mad at their liability defense).

Yeah if it's anything like Red Dead Revolver I might have to dig my xbox out of the closet and buy it

Wierd.  I was just on the main website today and it only asked you to put in a birthdate (I'm suprised nobody rejects January 1, 1900 yet).

www.gunthegame.com/flash.html

The game does look kindof good in a Max Payne kindof way.  I may pick it up.

Not at all.

The people blaming video games for shootings and suing the manufacturers piss me off.  The old ladies and even some people at this forum who complain about games like Grand Theft Auto piss me off.  The video game manufacturers are just doing what anyone would, defending themselves.

1111-1111-1111-1111  didn't work but I did find that rightclick - open in new window bypassed it just as well.
