No thanks.  That means i have to spend money to see this site.  What is so different about being a team member then just a member?  What "perks" do you have?  What is on the other side?  Without good answers to will send no money.

I guess you have not taken the time yourself to answer your own questions.

You missed my last one! The winner might have had a motive by winning and not responding (sad, but true). So look out, I'll get another one going.

There are Team Member benefits I've never accessed or used.  I didn't join for perks.

I was a regular here before joining, spending a fair amount of time on the boards.  Frankly, the people who called those like me "freeloaders" and "moochers" didn't motivate me to join.  If registration on the site is offered free, then there is nothing immoral about being a free (unpaid) member.

I joined because this has become one of my favorite sites and I want to help support it.  It takes funds to keep an operation like this up and running.

A Bronze membership averages out to $2 a month.  That's about what the BK croissant I had for breakfast this morning cost.  Sounds like a good deal to me.

I frequent many online gun boards.  This is the only one that I have become a member of.  The knowledge that I have gained from this site is well worth the small fee.

Cigars.....I only like Acid cigars.  I don't own an AR right this second so i don't need the coupons.  Truth is i have been out of work for nearly 1 year.  I do not have the money to spare to "help" this site.  Like it is said, "If its free it's for me"

The only thing I'm missing is the full version of the search feature. That's the only thing content wise. The avatar feature is nice so that people can more readily identify you too I suppose. I will be a paying member again.

The best reason to be a member is to SUPPORT the site, which is why I was a member up until a couple of months ago. They don't have a credit card payment option so I've been lazy about sending in more money.

I may join someday if I don't have to use paypal or send a money order.  All of the "paypal is evil" threads make me very hesitant to use them for any sort of purchase.

If I could just pay with a credit card it would be much easier for me to give in at a moment of weakness. (hint hint).

To be honest, I have considered becoming a member of this site. But, all of the non-member bashing really turns me off to it. It is a free regitration site that offers membership at a price. I like the site and find it somewhat informative, but whether or not it is worth the cost of membership is yet to be decided, and IMHO, BOTD ain't worth it.

I guess it depends on how you use the site.

I see this as a great source for information about ARs, accessories, and firearms in general.  When I see something I think I like, I NEVER shell out any money until I've checked here, there is always a review somewhere of just about everything.  I can get specs, pros and cons, and personal opinions of nearly every firearm accessory out there.

For this purpose, the archives, search, and My Active Topics are extremely useful.

Now, if you're just here to hang out in GD, then you probably have no need for the membership.

Consider what you get out of the site...In my case, it seems to pay for itself every month. For example,

I've found a cigar that I really like, and have been buying them through Thompson Cigars,  People suggested that I look at other sites, and I saved $34.00 a box!

Saved $7.00 a box on BH308, bought and sold all kinds of stuff. Traded a few items. Best marketplace around.

Have a problem with your AR? Post in the troubleshooting forum and get some real help that doesn't cost $55.00 an hour.

You don't have to pay for a membership to get the benefits.   Just remember, it isn't free to everyone. Someone has to pay for the bandwidth, servers, upkeep, and upgrades.

If you can't afford it, no problem. Contribute your talent or knowledge.

The "Al Sharpton Guilt Technique" really pisses me off.  If it's OK with the owner, you Team Members have no right to bitch.
That said, a CC option would make it easier to buy a membership in the rare times no one is whining about freeloaders.
