I'm looking to replace my old 2 megapixel Olympus with something newer and better. I want to be able to take it with me out on the lake (I ride a stand-up Jetski). I have a GPS that is submersible to 1 meter for 30 minutes. That kind of waterproofing would be ideal but I'm not optimistic about finding a non-professional unit rated like that. I'm wary of units that advertise themselves as being "weather proof" cause I'm not sure that will be adequate. I don't plan on intentionally submersing the camera, but I want something that can be drenched for an extended period. Any ideas? I've tried the waterproof disposable cameras but I've found the picture quality to be fair at best. I've wanted this for a while but I've got renewed interest after what I saw yesterday at Canyon Lake here in AZ. I came within ~15 feet of 12 Desert Bighorn Sheep (a rare animal for the area) taking a drink from the water. It was incredible and a camera would have made it even better. |

Just a quick search for waterproof stuff made by Canon on the B&H website. I know they sell more waterproof stuff than this... just an example. www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=search&Q=&b=8&shs=waterproof&ci=1&ac=&Submit.x=14&Submit.y=3 Call B&H or e-mail them... tell them what you want to do and they more than likely will have the product you need for it in stock... |
