| Anyone know where to get it? |
GP is in the hall of shame on this site, and I am not sure if they are doing business anymore. as per:www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=17&t=82469&page=5 |
I know. That's the reason I didn't mention names. Simply thought the guy may not have seen the article and pics before. See if there is a source in these pages. |

I still have a half a can left, but the nozzle is clogged pretty bad and any other nozzle I pull of other spray cans make a mess. Too bad about GP. I was in the process of ordering a Jewell trigger from them at a great price right about the time the bad news started coming in. Ended up buying it elsewhere for $30.00 more, but at least I recieved the product. Alternatives to Perma Slik?... Check Brownells www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=1145&title=TEFLON%2fMOLY+OVEN+CURE%2c+GUN+FINISH I've never tried this product, but from the description it sounds similar to Perma Slik. " TEFLON/MOLY OVEN CURE, GUN FINISH TEFLON/MOLY OVEN CURE, GUN FINISH Stock NumbersSpecifications Mfr: BROWNELLS The Next Generation Of Durable, Spray-On, Professional Gun Finishes Now you can apply a great-looking coating with the increased durability and friction-fighting properties of Teflon® fluoropolymer resin and molybdenum disulfide to any firearm or metal part in as little as 2 hours. This is not just another spray paint. Brownells Teflon/Moly Gun Finish is an ultra-modern, thermo-set, spray-on, self-lubricating coating, chemically bonded to a phenolic-epoxy base so it’s highly resistant to scratches and abrasion. Because the finish is baked on, you get some extra benefits. As the metal heats, its pores open allowing the Teflon component to penetrate. On high-wear areas, like slide rails, the coating will eventually wear away but the Teflon will still be in the pores, lubricating and protecting. Plus, dense colors won’t lighten, dissolve or break down under all common gun solvents. One application makes any properly prepared metal almost impervious to oxidation. The convenient aerosol can, with its versatile cone-shaped spray, is so easy to use it’s almost mistake-proof. Just degrease and abrasive-blast the part; pre-heat the part ’til it’s warm to the touch, then spray Brownells Teflon/Moly Gun Finish and let dry. In about 15 minutes, bake in a regular kitchen oven at 350° F. for 30 minutes. As soon as the part cools, it’s completely protected from rust and ready for final assembly. Perfect for restoring military rifles and parts; coating hard-to-blue, stainless steel or aluminum parts; refurbishing hunting guns and self-defense weapons, or refinishing any piece of metal that needs a durable, self-lubricating, rust-proof coating that lasts and will look great for years to come. Great “hiding” ability makes it a natural for quickly redoing those dinged and pitted working guns (after you get the rust out of the pits, of course). Use as a one-coat finish, or spray on several fine, thin coats and then bake. Extremely economical, one can will fully coat up to two long guns or four handguns! " (ETA: this stuff isn't cheap... $28.35 for a 6oz can) |

Someone asked this back in July, and at the time CMMG said they had a few cans left: CMMG, Inc PO Box 369 Fayette, MO 65248 660-248-2293 www.cmmginc.com [email protected] It isn't on their web-site, so give them a call. I also found this place (scroll to the bottom), but I don't know if they sell in small lots: www.neelyindustries.com/prod03.htm |
