I have a question concerning the legality of hi-capcity magazines, if what I am suggesting is illegal, mods feel free to lock this thread.

I spend a fair amount of time in a ban state (MA) and would like some good quality pre-ban ar mags for cheap. I know you can buy "replacement" mag bodies to replace worn out preban mags. Could I buy a bunch of cheap pre-ban orlites (like 6 bucks or something) order new USGI mag bodies and throw out the old orlites? Would this be a legitimate mag replacement, or would I be illegally creating new mags?

That's legal.

Edit: If you use 1 part of the old mag.

Don't throw away the old stuff ... Just in case you need to prove
that they were replaced .

Do you know if you can use the spring in an orlite for a USGI mag?

I have a related question - has anyone ever heard of someone being arrested for having standard cap mags made after or during the ban
