Thanks for your help with closing that topic. I've had the same discussion with a bunch of other people, but the reaction here was a bit different. My asian friends think that someone should of stopped Pol Pot. Some even want William Calley dead. Stalin came up quite a bit. Anywho, thanks again for the help. Peace, John

No problem man. I stick my foot in my mouth so often that I've taken to keeping a salt shaker handy. [:D] As a community, we want to be a step above the other unmoderated forums. And its fine to THINK such things (I've got a few that would go on that list myself) but we don't wanna say them OUT LOUD. The walls are listening.... Peace back atcha.
Link Posted: 7/26/2001 1:31:32 PM EDT
Apparently, you aren't a step above anything if you feel the need to censor words and ideas. I'm may be new, but that is still wrong.
Link Posted: 7/26/2001 1:37:01 PM EDT
[rolleyes] Re-Read the Code of Conduct you AGREED to obey when you signed on as a member of this forum. The one "censoring " is you,as you already agreed to limit yourself to the content the site owners have deemed appropriate. If that is unagreeable to you, you have PLENTY of other internet options. So, either abide by your own words, or do the right thing. Lastly, **** I ***** did not sensor anything. I made a personal request, which the individual agreed to. LIGHTEN UP. Smile. Enjoy life. Don't fight someone else's battles. Have a Coke. Or some doublemint fun.
Link Posted: 7/26/2001 2:35:57 PM EDT
I wasn't saying you were out of the boundraies of the site rules when you censored those horrible, scary words. I was saying that just because you can dosn't mean you should. The exchange of ideas, no matter how unpopular, is a good thing, no matter what medium it is done in. If anyone is so offended by mere typed language that they need YOU to "fight thier battles for them", they will have a hard time in real life, where the actions of others can often be far, far more harsh then the expression of opinion.

Garandman plenty of other internet options? Ha Ha we are gonna stay right here. We bitched and bitched and finally got rid of Timmy AntiUssa and no longer have to put up with his antics as a moderator. Now that we cleaned up the big smelly fish from the aquarium we can concentrate on the less significat fish like yourself.

David Hineline your my hero.... I nominate you to be in charge of all the smelly fish disposal. You can start by disposing of yourself... [x]

I'm only contributing one piece of my mind to this argument before the Jew goes to bed. "Censorship" IS a bad thing if it hinders any input of "words and ideas", as you put it Schlomo. Our forum's Code of Conduct prohibits racial slurs, pornography with no warning, and general meaningless slander. Last time I checked, neither of these three contributed in the least to prosperous ideas, and thus - we have moderators to censor. That is all.

amen, Beekeeper. Attacking a good moderator that most of us like is gonna get your ass in trouble. [-!-] [-!-]
Link Posted: 7/26/2001 9:42:58 PM EDT
Timmy had plenty of friends also. I am sure he still does. Since Timmy has retired Garandman has become the new thought policeman here. I have been here since before you were born and people of true substance like myself will always be here. Preachy people like Garandman will come and go as thier followers finally get tired of thier preacing of thier thoughts while trying to stifle the thoughts of others.

A very excellent question! Is it the imperious "WE", the "WE" of KINGS? Or is it the "WE" of conspirators and backchannelingcowards who do not have the guts to face people preferring to backstab their opposition. MMMMmmmm Tell us who the "WE" are DAVID.
Link Posted: 7/26/2001 10:25:36 PM EDT
Beekeeper I always find it funny that when someone has nothing of substance to say they start to critique grammer and spelling. As far as the we, who is the we, we are the ones who stayed on site fighting against the evil moderator untill he was worn down and gave up the will to live and left the site.

You are calling garandman evil because he follows the forum rules?

If you would clean the wax from your ears you would understand that Timmy AntiUssa was the evil that "We who stayed and fought the good fight" defeated. Garandman is not evil he has yet to reach his full potential. If he does not accept the feedback from users of this site and curb his ways he will become one of the lost moderators also. In case you missed it on the other post. This is the general board here we discuss general things. If you want to discuss AR15s toys for little boys then goto one of the discussion forums on that topic. Just so you know follow the link to someone who gave up on children's guns a few years back. Hineline, You are SO welcome to stop by anytime and share your infinite wisdom with us! Don't hesitate to condescend while you're here! Our salvation depends on you, oh, master of all guns, to deliver us from "childrens toys". HEY!!!!! The name of the site is AR15.com. (I'll sell you a Title 2 clue for cheap!) You are SO nice to come here and insult eveyone, we just can't wait to spend our money at your business establishment! You have a way with getting lots of customers! ATTA BOY! How 'bout being NICE to the hosts?
Link Posted: 7/27/2001 12:13:00 AM EDT
Before you spend any money with me I will have to get the okay from your Mommie.
Link Posted: 7/27/2001 1:03:21 AM EDT
Keep in ming guys that ol' David twice stated that he was leaving in the past. Moral---the guy can't be trusted. sgtar15 PS David, how is the diet going?? Are you under 300lbs yet??
Link Posted: 7/27/2001 2:45:16 AM EDT
Say what you want about Hineline, I could care less about whether you love him or hate him. I was going to say that this board isn't a popularity contest, but that wouldn't exactly be true, would it? Personally, I think he's an asshole, but he's still okay in my books. Just don't dare say anthing about his NOT being a contributer on this board. How many times has he helped me out by emailing me with detailed answers to many of my questions? I've lost count, but it's a lot. So I like him, but he's still an asshole...

Thought police??? Youve heard the saying "Better to keep silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth, and remove all doubt" right??? You are free to have whatever THOUGHTS you like. You'll not find the moderators in here interfering with that. But the mods WILL step in when you come in here and "remove all doubt." (i.e. in violation of the Code of Conduct)

Let's explore that sillyness just a bit. (and the examples I'm about to give are EXACTLY on point as to the original thread that got "censored" - a notion I have ALREADY disproved) Example 1 "How about we have a thread that discusses the most efficient way to murder YOU, Shlomo." Would you consider THAT exchange of ideas a "good thing?" Or how about a thread on how to rape or murder your wife / mother / daughter / girlfriend / loved one? Would that exchange of ideas be a "good thing?" Example 2 By law, you are legally forbidden from discussing murdering the President of the US. Ignoring that law, would that disussion be a "good thing?" Your notion that "The exchange of ideas, no matter how unpopular, is a good thing" is naieve beyond belief. We are legally prohibited from yelling fire in a crowded theatre. We are legally prohibited from talking about murdering the president. "Free specch" is significantly limited in this country - deal with it. Lastly, free speech DOES NOT apply in here. This is PRIVATE PROPERTY. What the owners say goes AS LAW. Law which you and everyone else ALREADY agreed to abide by. You apparently don't value free speech, because in agreeing to the code of conduct, you signed away some of your free speech rights. Deal with it. Do the right thing. The only other possible option is that in agreeing to the Code of Conduct, you made an agreement which you PLANNED to later dishonor. What does that make you??? I want you to be here, but am charged with making sure EVERYONE abides by the Code of Conduct. As amply shown in other threads, I have put aside my personal beliefs in allowing other things that the mods have deemed acceptable. In short, this is not a personal grudge, based on personal beliefs or whims. Feel free to jump in and swim around, but abide by the COde of Conduct (as you already have agreed you would), or you and the Mods will have significant dealings.

I support Garandman, and can respect his beliefs.
Link Posted: 7/27/2001 5:37:08 AM EDT
I know this is a private forum and free speech does not apply, however it is already clear that grandman like antiussa is starting going make and break the rules when he feels like it. I remember shortly after grandman became a mod and how he decided to close the hedonism thread that offended his beliefs and used foul language to attack another poster. This goes to show his hypocrisy.

Bee: your suggestion of my extremeism is merely a sad way to try and deflect the truth of my criticsm since neither you nor grandman can rebut it. I welcome the moderators if they abide by the same rules we regular folks have to, however if they don't want to I will point that out as well.

MOD - What would you have me do??? Be disqualified as a Mod for a SINGLE violation?? (BTW - I stand by my decision to lock the thread - however, my language WAS unacceptable because of my PERSONAL beliefs, and the hypocritical nature of me using such a word, tho other posters and Mods have used the same language, but you don't seem to have a problem with that.) Is sinless perfection required to be a Mod?? Or should I have done my mea culpa is CAPITAL LETTERS, so that it was more believable?? Have i done anything objectionable before or since that time?? (And WHY IN THE WORLD am I the subject of an entire discussion??? [:D] ) Or do you just want me to go away entirely?? What would you have me do??

Hey MOD, The gentleman made a mistake. Shall we take him out at dawn tomorrow and execute him? He is a good man and one of us. Why attack the members here? Don't forget he made a very public (and humble!) apology for that too. I can't speak for God, and I am sure not much of a Christian, but I bet God forgave him for any mis-steps. Perhaps you could see fit to do the same? Thanks! [:D]

Beekeep - I REALLY don't think they need any help in dreaming up cool ways to torture / execute the mods. [:D] Besides, you forgot my favorite - skinned alive, then dunked in a vat of salt brine, then, if any life remains in them, dropped on top of an fireant hill from height of 500 ft. [:D]

Since this is a topic regarding garandman... Anybody here want to trade cards? We kids in the neighborhood are looking to trade an old Babe Ruth trading card for a garandman trading card #5. We have been trying to collect each of the numbered garandman cards in the series from the garandman trading card Kung-Fu pack , but it seems all the kids nowdays are trying to get into the garandman fad. Little Bobby Joe down the street who is my bestest friend in the whole wide world, got the garandman action figure doll complete with the bible-thumping kung-fu grip for his birthday! If you try to pull the garandman doll's bible away, his grip will get tighter on the little bible. Another kid on the block said there is another newly arrived garandman action figure that also comes with a miniature bible. To make the garandman action figure work, all you need to do is position his left arm over the bible and press the buttom on his back. He will now thump the bible like this, thump! thump! thump! and the doll will say some pre-recorded righteous words. How awesome! The garandman is a cool cat in the hat! [:)]

Beekeeper. You think I have attacked Garandman here? Well if giving some feedback that he should not take his moderation to the evil level that AntiUssa did is an attack in your opinion well then so bee it beekeeper. You wanna see personal attacks then just read the topics and opinions which get posted about me. I often just try to expose a dissenting opinion on a topic to stir a debate.
