So my FFL calls me and says a "certain company" that I have ordered from me before has sent me a box.  I havent purchased anything recently so I told them to open it and see what is inside.  Well its 2 shotguns.  Some of the cheaper pumps.  One is a tactical model and the other a 28in hunter model.  I didnt order them and I sure didnt pay for them.  The FFL says to take them since they are in my name and forget about it.

Part of me says yes and the other says its not right.  It would nice to have beater truck gun and the GFs kid needs a hunting shotgun.

Call the company, explain the mixup.

They may give you some kinda freebie or credit as a sign of gratitude.

Could you really use those shotguns with a clear conscience, knowing that you basically shafted the company out of a few hundred bucks?

If you have to ask, you know what you should do. Call them up and tell them you received the guns. Somebody somewhere is wondering where the hell their shotguns are. The company that sent them should pay for return shipping back to the origin/themselves. It's possible they could report the firearms stolen if you kept them. It's not like they won't know where they shipped them to when they realize their mistake. I am pretty sure they mistakenly sent them to you as opposed to another customer.

They are dirt cheapo guns at that.  125 each!  I think they are the Chinese knockoffs they sell at the gunshow.

But I am going to the FFL this weekend to check out situation and see whats on the paperwork.

But what a gift!  The gift of free guns!

I am going to remember to use that one on my kid(s)...

Also, I think I would find another FFL.  If he is pulling stuff like that...you don't know what else he is into.

Don't take what ain't yours.  Kharma is a bitch.

An old county boy once told me, "If you're gonna steal, steal from Kin, they're less likely to set the law on ya."

Stealing is stealing.

No, this couple is the salt of the earth.  Older couple that operates out their garage.  Nice folk into shooting and killing clays.  Very nice and sweet people.  Also they only charge me $10 a gun!

You'd be happier with yourself if you called them and double-checked what the story is.

Sorry man, but when I think of Salt of the Earth I think of Uncle Jesse.

And in this case, Uncle Jesse would tell Bo and Luke - "Send em' back."

Thats funny you said that because you are not too far from the truth as far as how he looks.  Also he pointed out the same law as above. He said I am not obligated to send it back even if I didnt order it.  But it was up to me.  He already has them ready to go when I say word to send them back.

I'd give 'em back.

I'd HATE to have some foul-up where I was caught in the possession of a couple of firearms that were reported lost or stolen.

COP: "Put your hands behind your back" as he pull out his handcuffs.

YOU: But-officer-the guns were sent to me by mistake by the manufacturer and they never asked for them back".

COP: "Yeah, right. Have a seat back there, watch your head. Tell it to your lawyer".

Which will CERTAINLY cost more than a couple of cheap inexpensive shotguns.

Call them and tell them of the mix up. My experience  in the shipping and recivieing dept for a local retailer has show many times that it pays off in the long run.  If you call and tell them about a mix up that would have given you two free shotguns they will more likely belive you if you have a problem with a later order.  I've been shorted alot more than I have gotton free stuff sent.  When I got the free items that weren't ordered I called and aranged to send it back.  When something came up missing in my order I called them and they sent the missing part  next day air no questions asked.

OK I called SOG in OHIO.  They had MY contact INFO with another guys name on it! WTF!  They had my work number and home number.

Sales girl, Youre not Larry?

ARDOC, Hell no.  I did want some free shotguns though.

Sales girl, Are you sure your not Larry?

ARDOC, No, I am not Larry,  I would never buy anything like that and I have a much bigger penis then Larry.

Sales girl, I dont believe you said that, laughing.

We finally set it  straight and Larry is getting his cheapo Chinese shotguns.
