I have lost the 4th hard drive in a year, except this time there was no other hard drive with my crap backed up on it, as in the past.  Additionally, my compact flash devices, with the really, really important stuff were formatted by me during the Win XP install - I am used to Win2000, and during setup I deleted them thinking they were partitions on the hard drive I installed. (not an option in Win2k setup) By this time I was already pissed off and had 8 or 9 beers, you know the rest of the story. Anyway, the stuff was important enough to me that I am going to drop the thousand or so to get it back. Any recommendations on companies to do this? NEVER buy an IBM drive - the SCSI drive was an IBM, the rest were EIDE IBM Deskstars. 4 of them. In a year. |
