This is probably a stupid question but...

When I go to the range in CT, (CT has a lot of lyme cases) I usually put my range bags and rifle cases on this wooden shelf behind the benches, sometime I lay them on the concrete floor. I usually keep these bags in my closet with my winter coats.... my question is: what are the chances I have picked up a tick or two on these bags and do I have to worry about wearing my coats? Told ya it was a dumb question... but I am paraniod about these things so if someone has any advice I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Deer ticks normally grab on to vegitation to wait for their next meal ticket to walk by. The preferred vegitation is tall grass but they will also use trees etc.  I got bit by a tick over Labor Day weekend while out hunting and got Lyme disease & it isn't fun.
Google deer ticks, Lyme etc. and you will find a wealth of info.

They're easy to see. They look like a regular tick, but they have huge antlers.

I am probably bitten by tickes more than 300X a year at least.  One day after work I had pulled off 80 in a two hour period.  I have lyme disease symptoms but doc says that the test came back negative.   One of the best things you can do is use deet or promenone.  I also duck tape my jeans to my boots.

I always spray my clothes with deet... I'm just worried about the fact that my rifle bags/cases are laying around on the floor at the range, which is in the woods, and then picking up a tick on the rifle bag and keeping that bag in my closet with my coats, etc...

[The closet in question has my leather coats and jackets for going out so they don't get the deet treatment]
