How long do snap caps last? The A-Zoom ones. I have some and they are showing some wear-roughness along the base where they are making contact with the extractor. Are they safe to use or am I going to cause damage?

Unless your receiver is made from a material softer than the plastic.......No.

Use em till they don't work any longer and then buy new.

cheap ass ones like these for 12 gauge don't last long at all, mayb 3-4 months then the rim breaks

My plastic ones last fine, but I use them in double barrels not repeaters.  I would think repeaters would be prone to rip the rim off.

Ditto for Remington 700 style extractors/ejectors.
