A new study by the Centre for Defence Studies at Kings College in London finds handgun crime rose by 40% in the two years after Britain banned the weapons in 1997. "The research, commissioned by the Countryside Alliance's Campaign for Shooting, has concluded that existing laws are targeting legitimate users of firearms rather than criminals," the BBC reports. |

Quoted: The "answer" to this dilemma, predictably, will be strident calls for MORE and STRICTER gun control. He's right, thing is it will get worse in Canada not Britain, See when the US had school shootings Canada had to get more stringent laws to bring a stop to this... even though it wasn't happening in our country. don't ask me how it works. |

When will people understand that taking guns from the hands of the law abiding people will not impact crime??? THEY ARE LAW ABIDING PEOPLE!!! Sure one or two of them flip out or have accidents, but that's 1-2!!! What countries need is stricter punishments on crime... leave all the guns alone, just kill the bastards using them for crimes! ]=) |

Quoted: Do you have a link for this? No. It came as part of an e-journal called The Federalist. My experience that this is a VERy reputable source. To verify the info, I'd do a search on any of the organizations listed in the original post. or go to www.federalist.org, and ask for verification. |
