My best-friend's father had a massive stroke on Thursday, leaving him braindead, and they gave consent to unhook life support. They are now just waiting for him to die. He could use some prayers right now, I think.

Thanks, Tim

Thanks guys.

WTF do I say to him? I lost my Father already but I'm so awkward at what to say at times like this.

I have the same problem.

It turns out that just being there for people works better. Most of what people say is cliched anyway.

Take them dinner, or just sit there with them, or whatever.

I was in the same boat, sort of. We used to take his father out shooting with us, and he always had one hell of a great time, so that's what we always focused on, and still do. Just remember the good times, man.
