Never having owned a 10/22, I was looking into getting one for a nephew for his birthday. What exactly does the 10 stand for? I am assuming the 22 refers to the caliber. ![]() ![]() <----dvr9

I think Ruger made the 10/22 to look like and to similar dimensions to the M1 carbine and to match the 44 mag deer stalker version. I also think the 10 in 10/22, while just being a model number, does represent the 10 in the 10 shot rotary magazine. |
It was created after the 44mag carbine (later know as the deerstalker) was produced. It was made to aid in training and a cheaper alternitive to shoot than the 44mag. I have in the arfcom tradation. "Got both" Its fun at the range to take the 44 out and shoot it. Everyone is expecting a pop pop. LOL |
