Soooo.... How, long will it take, do ya think, for our International "friends/allies", to offer aid to The US for Hurricane relief, after the disaster strikes????????

I wonder if ANYONE will even offer???

Maybe Vicente Fox will give US a break on oil prices to be a good neighbor...

I was thinking the same exact same thing. I vote for NEVER.

Maybe this could be Bolton's opportunity to show the UN, and others, how they could put their money where their mouth is and help out the country that is there for them at times like these.

It is times like this that I feel we should take over a country, countries, for our needs.

Most of the world is rejoicing at the US's misfortune right now.

I wouldn't be surprised at an offer from Great Britain, but what are they going to do, send haggus?

This would be a good time for George Bush to open a big ass book during a press conference, while telling the rest of the world that we will be logging offers for help there, and if you're not in the Big Book, don't come begging for aid or arms.

It's my understanding that countries generally ASK for help before it is given - when it comes to things like natural disasters, etc.

How much aid did the U.S. offer for all the flooding in Europe last week?   That's right - NOTHING, because the Europeans don't need it for that disaster, and they didn't ask for any aid.

The U.S. doesn't need any help, and won't be asking for any - that's why you won't see any - no other nefarious reason.

Do you really think that nobody would give aid if the U.S. ASKED???  Of course they would.  Countries like the UK have always been there for the U.S., along with a bunch of other allies.

The only people that could provide any assistance that the U.S. could actually use are in OPEC - and I agree with you that THOSE fuckers won't do a thing.

Huh!

And, here I thought we offered aid before anyone asked for it in the Tsunami disaster........

In fact, I believe, we had aid mobilized before they asked........??

Maybe, but evrything on the tab now, is debt for us..........

It'd be nice if someone at least offered.

Maybe they'll offer condolences????

You reckon the Islamists started praying when the storm hit Florida??? Or before that???

I wonder how many Americans, were praying???

Or were we too busy on Bourbon Street????

That's probably true - but also an obvious case of where the aid would clearly be needed, and the local country would NOT be able to handle it themselves.

If countries around the world believe that the US could NOT handle this, I honestly believe that every single European country (for starters) - even assholes like the French and Germans - would be offering help.

As an aside - how much help has the U.S. sent to India?  This year alone, over 1,000 people died in the Maharashtra province of India

So...how many times did the US send aid to Australia in peacetime disasters?  Yes, the US sent military assistance during WW2 to defeat a common enemy.

Lets see, we have sent men and personnell to help with 9/11 and with your wild fires or whatever you call them.

We sent men to Iraq and Afghanistan and even boosted our contributions without being asked to when other nations were reducing theirs, even though our small military is very stretched right now, but that obviously amounts to nothing.
