Got damn. ETA: The man in blue is fscking lucky they didn't shoot him when he had them stopped and got out of the car and they sped off. Backup would have been nice here. (Like maybe that other fucking cop car he passed on the freeway?). A partner with an AR would have been useful as well. |

Here's a news story about it: www.al.com/crime/mobileregister/index.ssf?/base/news/111960482248520.xml&coll=3 |
Very well said. chalk another one up for the good guys |

Too bad the ghetto goblins driving the car didn't get to assume room temperature after it was all said and done. As it is they are going to prison for a few years, will be treated well by their peers while they lift weights and get law degrees for free, then get released to do it again. Dave |
That looked like a videotape that had been used and reused a few too many times. I don't know where you did your ride-along, but outside of metro areas, back-up can be 30 minutes or more away. The officer was giving locations up til they went onto the dirt road. This is a godo example of why more agencies need to go with GPS tracking of units. |

1. Why in the hell can't people get out of the way of darn emergency vehicles rolling with full lights and sirens? Why is it that 80% of the drivers on the road seem completely unable to look in the darn rear view??? 2. I would like to see pics of the cruiser when it was all over. 3. Anybody ever wondered why the cops need big engines? There ya go. 4. I have shot cars before, but never been inside one when the bullets were hitting it. That's some scary stuff. In fact, I don't remember another incident where someone has opened up on the cops like that from inside the car, at least not while the chase is ongoing. 5. Another good reason for officers to have more than just a sidearm handy. An MP5 or shorty AR in that vehicle would have been a huge benefit to the officer. 6. The driver of that red Intrepid was the smartest driver in the whole bloody video. He/She had sense enough to know a world of sh*t when they saw it, and had sense enough to get the hell out of there. |
| Saw that on the news the other day. The interview with the cop was pretty cool. Pretty much said it was fight or flight and he wasn't going to let these guys get away so they could hurt someone else. Kahona's of Steel I tell ya. They won't even let the Mobile PD carry any type of rifle if I'm not mistaken. Pistols and shotguns only. |
Sir, as a resident of Colorado who had to watch on live TV as a whole fleet of SWAT officers sat outside a school where shooting was happening with their thumbs up their butts, I BEG TO DIFFER. This officer has great big hardened carbon steel balls. He took fire and glass/jacket frags, and still kept driving and pursuing. He pursued the zone of danger and immersed himself in it. I have all the respect in the world for him . |

MPD does not issue vid cams... It was his personal camera he put in the car of his own inititive. Solid Policeman. Inexcusable that his Dispatch did not know where he was and was not able to get back up on that loooong chase sooner. I would have been yelling "I'm taking rifle fire! Get me some goddamned help!" SKS/AK BTW as if you could not tell by the sound. |

Very cool and calm under both pressure and fire. Sounds and looks like a WARRIOR to me. Very, very impressive! Mobile, AL is honored to have an officer of that caliber serving them. Along with the impacts, you could also hear the "snaps" from the rounds passing by his vehicle. Brings back memories!!!!! Semper Fi, ASO544 |
Nobody said he didn't have "balls of steel". It's a long video with no payoff. The Colorado SWAT did have their thumbs up their butts. |
