MSNBC staff and news service reports Updated: 4:03 p.m. ET July 22, 2005 Today France has raised the terror alert from "Run" to "Hide", responding to a spate of deadly rush-hour bus and subway bombings in London. - There are only two higher alert levels in France, which are "Surrender" and "Collaborate". New York and other major cities have also moved immediately to tighten security, calling in thousands of additional law enforcement officers. “Obviously we’re concerned about the possibility of a copycat attack” but most devastaing of all was a recent fire which destroyed France's white flag factory - effectively crippling their military capacity. |
