Hi all.

Topic says it all.

Lately I've been pulling anywhere from 2-5 hours over the normal 8 hour shift.

What's yours?

My day is 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, when deployed.  If I'm a site CDR, on salary....ha ha.....Well, I've been up for 49 hours once during hurricane season last year.

Bright side, when I'm home, I'm off 24/7 Though, I'm not making money.

At work we have 12 hour shifts.  On my really long days I work up to 16 hours (extra assignment) by choice.  Anything longer is not allowed by our union.

12hr work days!

I work anywhere from 45 to 60ish hour/week.

Some days are less than 8 hour and others are over 12.  It just depends on what's going on.

I am the only one in my department that supports WMQSeries so I am oncall 24/7 sometimes even when I am sic or on PTO.  This will change later this year when I go squirrel hunting in Oct/Nov for the first time in two years.

Lack of rain in the last two years stressed the Abert's Grey Squirrel population here in AZ so I didn't bother.  But the abundant rains we got early this year have changed all that.

Uh hunting I will go.  Uh hunting I will go...  High Ho the Merry-Oh.....

Depends...normal at-work time is 7:30, with luck, I get to jet around 4.

Problems? Easy 6pm.

Also on-call 24/7.

We move to 23/6 trading next month, too...and there's just 5 of us...theoretically, only 3, but me and another guy pull double-duty...

The job I'm at, it ain't hourly/daily...it's more whenever it's needed. We generally pull 50 hour weeks, and not even because we need to, but because we feel like keeping tabs on things.

The above is also beyond weekends. Come release weekends, it's an all-hands evolution (generally) on Saturday, and maybe Sunday...)

Normally I work an 8 hour day, but lately I have been having to do wireless access point contruction, so I have had two 14 hour days in a row, no breaks.

I get paid hourly though, so I dont mind

Since you mentioned it and at the risk of hi-jacking this thread.

Yes, and the young ones fried are quite tasty fried.  They don't taste like chicken.  They taste like squirrel.

The older ones make a nice soup but in the past few years I have gotten into the habit of donating the old ones (once they have been dressed out and frozen) to the local AZ Game & Fish Wildlife Clinic.

They prefer to feed the animals they have there, that are being rehabilitated for re-introduction to the wild with wild game meat that the same animal may catch in their environment.

Lots of  overtime(mandatory) in my Fire Department lately.  Normal shift is 24 hours on, 48 hours off.
This last week it's been 48 on, 24 off.  So by Friday morning at 8am, I'll have done 72 hours of overtime in 8 days. Getting a little tired.
