Started a new savings account for a kimber 1911 yesterday. I was at the dump with a load of trash and this guy pulled in next to me and started to toss a large water bottle. I asked him for it and he complied.

It now sits next to the gun safe with masking tape accross the front with the word KIMBER on it.

I emptied all the change out of my pockets, including any $1 bills. I'll continue to do that on a daily basis. Has anyone else done this, and how long do you think it takes to accomplish that goal?

If you could do $5 a day, and wanted a $750 gun, it would take 150 days, so about 5 months.

I have never done that with a specific goal in mind, but I usually dump all my change in a centralized location, and when the paycheck runs out (with four kids and a wife who likes to shop this happens often) I cash in the change jar.

One time there was $180 after just six weeks. It can add up fast if you include dollar bills at the end of the day.
