What is the best science type astronomy progrom?

I had I think Stary Night 2.0 or something a long time ago.  Thinking about getting another one.

Looks like a toss up between Starry Night Pro v5.0 and TheSky Serious Astronomer Edition.

Starry Night Pro runs on Macs and PCs, and TheSky runs on PCs only.

Looking at the night sky is one of the most deeply relaxing things one can do.
I also like to observe planets and some deep space objects like the Messier catalog etc.
I have a Celestron C-5+ SCT scope.
What do you have?

I just use my spotting scope.

I can see Jupiter and Saturn pretty damn good with it.

Get a bigger scope, my good man.
Size matters.

As for an astronomy program check out CyberSky - it's a very good program.

I've just added a small addition to my scope, an Orion 80mm refractor guide scope with a camera for use as a guide scope.  I know my mount has a miserable periodic error, but I've got to try it anyway...

The Ultima mounts were pretty good for low periodic error.
The also had programmable periodic error control.
