Any owners that would recommend a model or style.  After $300 it seems to go up sharply.

I liked using one in the gym and thought of buying one.  I think I'd be happy with the air-resistance model but used the magnetic resistance Lifecylcle Rower in the past.

Rowers are good, but watch your 6 back and keep it straight.

Most gyms no longer have rowers for that reason.

i have an older concept 2 machine, model b, that i've been very pleased with. essentially the same model i used to train on at the boathouse and good for simulating on the water feel. plenty of spare parts and support available from the mfg. also well designed for heavy use and easy maintenance. i havent used the newer model c, or d.

I found a used Precor Concept II Model C, barely used for $700.  They're $1100 new and I followed some eBay auctions that had them at $5-600 and 3-5 days still to run.
