Yep! I bought it at a rummage sale too!!!!

A Class 1 Chemical Suit. Government issue, new in the package for $1.00. It's my size also.  It has some sort of rubberized lining under the BDU camo. I expect it will work real well for winter hunting.

now that you've opened it, the charcoal liner will pretty much be dead in a few days.

That charcoal will rub off on the clothes you're wearing underneath.

Which would go a long way towards explaining why the chem suit comes sealed, to be opened at the time of use.

at best under ideal conditions they are good for 48-72 hours in a chemical enviornment. MOPP ain't that good.

Boot polish rubs off on the rubber overboots too.
I can still hear the Supply Sarge's voice when I close my eyes: "It's still dirty. Keep rubbiing."

the charcoal liner absorbs the moisture and chemicals to keep it from getting though to you. charcoal will quickly suck the moisture out of the air and your sweat reducing it's ability to absorb toxins.

it always kills me when the hunters buy these things and expect to use them all season to "hide" thier body odor.

I think the sergeants plan it that way.
