I've had my home and auto insurance with State Farm my whole life (now 35) and never made a claim on either. Now my Aunt is a Met Life agent and she has nagged me into switching. I'm supposed to sign the papers at noon today. Those with experience--am I making a mistake or an improvement?

Your aunt is thinking about herself and not you. You need to think about yourself and not her. If you don't have a problem with SF why change? Is there that much of a difference in price?

It is a better rate from Met Life. Shoulda mentioned that. Not a huge amount, but a comfortable difference.

She's doing what al new agents do-hitting her family up for new accounts. You'll get no great advantage from Met-I used to work in their customer service area.

I've had great service from my agent for over 30 years.  I wouldn't switch from him for a few $$ in savings, but you have to assess your own situation.
