In honor of thebeekeeper1, who I started to make this tutorial for, only to find that he doesn't have MS Paint. In all likelihood, he probably can't find it on his computer.

First, open up the picture you want like so:

By the way, that is my friends playing Counter Strike: Source. If any of you guys see [ATHF]Ignignokt playing, let me know, that's me.

Second, go to Stretch/Skew in the Image menu:

Third, enter your new dimension percentages. If you want it a quarter of the original size, enter 50 for both length and width. Just make sure you enter the same numbers, they can be whatever you want. You can also enter larger numbers for a blown-up image (less quality). Hit ok.

Go to save it. I always use "Save As...," in lieu of Save, because I may need the original for God-knows-what.

You may want to change the file type you save it as. .JPEG files take up considerably less space than the .BMP format, but sometimes the .JPEG will get grainy if it started out as a .BMP.

Any questions?

They are not two copies. The individual conversation windows collapse in with the main window. Each are single conversations and then the main window.

No, 2.

The AOL tab is the main window (Buddy List) and then a user. Same with the MSN tab.

How do you get the picture to the paint program?
6/2/2005 9:31:41 PM EDT

Just download the Microsoft power toy Image Resizer… and do it with a right-click.

That's the first picture. Right-click on the picture itself, then go to "Open With > Paint".

Alternatively, you can open Paint first (Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > Paint) and then hit File (in the top left - same row as Image as used in Step 2), and go to "Open" from there. At that point, poke around in the little browser until you find your picture.

If the picture is on the Internet or something, you'll have to put it onto your computer first (Right click on it, choose "Save Picture As....").

Here is the easiest way to resize pictures.  For XP users only.

Just email them to yourself.  XP has an option when you are sending pictures in an email to automatically "make them smaller".  When they arrive, they are already resized and you can "save as" wherever you want.

Here is how,
Open "My Computer" and find the file.  Don't open it, just find it.
Right click on the file and click "send to mail receipient"
This will automatically open your default mail server.  Click "yes" on resize and the pic is on its way back to you.

By far the easiest way to resize pic files.
