Does anybody have an image of what the proper sight picture (A2 iron sights) should be? Also, with handguns, I use both my eyes. Should I be doing this with my AR too? Thanks, Chimborazo. |

I've got one but it's in my computer that's in storage and I don't remember where I stole the picture from. I should have it back within a couple of weeks. Have you checked the Army's operators manual at www.old.ar15.com Basically the eye centers the front post in the rear aperture - to heck with the front post's protective wings. |

I couldn't find a picture for the A2 sight picture, but I found one that very closely resembles it. It says it's for the M1 ( I don't own one) but it looks almost the same to me. The picture on the left is what you want to duplicate. The picture on the right has the front sight tip just below center mass. What I do is put the front sight tip on center mass of what I'm shooting at. Either way works. Hope that helps. If you can't click on that link, just cut and paste it into your address bar. I'll try and correct it. About the eyes. Keeping them open might work from 0-75 yards, but any distance farther than that I have to use one eye.
