So I'm out making a business appointment and on the way back home I stop at a pawn shop. First one nothing much, but there is another shop right next to it. The other place had lots of guns. I make it over to the AW section. One Bushy M4 16" Carbine $989, a RR 20" with a SIR system for $2300 (yes $2300) and some type of AK for $560.

A guy comes in and wants a 9mm assualt weapon for $200. Said he was a former Marine. But did not know that the Bushy I was holding was basically a copy of the M16. He said their rifles in the Marines was 9mm and that's why he wanted a 9mm.

Gotta love them pawn shops.
I think the owners keep the prices inflated so they wont loose their toyz for their Sunday shoots.

Ive found a couple of deals on rifles..................but for the most part the prices are outlandish.
I got a Rem 700 BDL in 270 in ex cond for 300 bucks in Georgia, but the same shop wanted $950 for a plain vanilla DPMS AR. Im not too sure these guys knew about the AWB sunset almost a year ago.

No doubt he needed one for the SEAL class he was going into next week?

There's ONE pawnshop by me that'll wheel & deal. The rest are money laundering fronts as far as I can tell.

I've bagged some GREAT deals from that one pawnshop. The rest want MORE for a USED gun than what you'd pay for a NEW one with a warranty.

I was in the "good" pawnshop one day and a guy was looking at a full-sized Bushy, the shop wanted $650 for it-I knew that cash and a little gab would get the price down-and the guy was having trouble making up his mind. He'd never heard of Bushmaster so I said, "Dude-if you don't buy it RIGHT NOW, I WILL".

He bought it. The pawnshop guy-who kinda knows me by know-said thanks on the side. This was before the AWB sunsetted.

I've bagged a Colt .380, S&W 686, HiPower and a 30-30 for a gift from them, ALWAYS lower than the marked price.

And stereo equipment-let's say I'm SET UP.

One time I had a hook up at a pawn shop near my house. Stainless Remington BDLs $250. Colt Frontier Scout in cherry condition $69.  We were getting 10/22's for $89. Snap On inch pound torque wrench $35. The list goes on and on. I wish it was still like that.

"Former Marine?"  Can the transformation be undone?

OTOH, I've known some former military personnel that have been clueless.
