So here I was looking for an interview with an expert in the field of SR-71 Blackbirds for my Composition research paper. I thought I had one, turns out Im unable to get into contact with him. This was a really bad time to back out... because I put an interview at the bottom of my list of sources to acquire. Foolish me, now its biting me in the ass. Does any one have some help in the way of getting into contact (Via email, be the fastest way I would imagine) with someone who is either an expert in the field of aircraft, specifically Lockheed Martin, the Skunk Works, or the SR-71? Thanks a ton! I wish ANdy would come floating by... he seems to know bunches about the field of aviation. |
| you know that a lot of that information is still classified right? Maybe thats why he backed out. For general information the military channel runs specials on the skunk works from time to time. The internet can be used to find everything you really should need to complete your paper. |
I'd check with John Stone (web site and e-mail here: www.blackbirds.net/sr71/index.html I've e-mailed him a couple of times about Huntsville's A-12 and the erroenous markings that it has and he answered back. Merlin |

I could tell you about the Skunk Works philosophy. I worked at Lockheed Missiles and Space for 18 years and not only did I work in a true "Skunk Works" environment, I also worked with some guys that worked on the U-2/TR-1 and SR-71. I don't have direct Burbank/Palmdale knowledge, but I can talk to the general flavor of the outfit. CW |
