Ok, maybe more than one. Today, are zombies fast moving like in 28 days later and the new DotD? Ok, second question, I was wondering if you acted like a zombie around them, would they know you were faking? I really wouldn't want to test my theory amongst a bunch of zombies but , you know. And third, couldn't we somehow capture zombies and put them on huge tread mills and provide electricity for everyone? Remember in 28 days they had the one Army guy they had chained and in the remake of Night of the Living Dead, they had them hanging by the neck shooting them. So, couldn't we harness that possible energy source?Fourth, would a taser work on zombies? Thank you. Have a nice day.

1 - Log Off the PC
2 - Go out and enjoy the wonderful things life has to offer....like getting a BJ!
3 - Come back later and thank me for the advice

1. Yes
2. No
3. Yes, but they need to eat.
4. Tazers don't work on Zombies but they are the B's knees on Werewolfs.

They are not sentient thinking creatures, so probably not.

Okay,

1) That probably depends on the strain that infected the zombie.
2)Acting like them wouldn't work because they hunt by smelling the living flesh.
3)Capturing enough of them to make power produsction worth while would be to dangerous, too much liability.
4)I think a taser would work on a zombie as well as it works on the living.  You might have a better chance of tearing the muscles away from the bone, but odds are the deadies are going to be up and after you after the ride ends.  That and the usually aren't alone.

Seems to me a tazer would work. It would NOT kill them but it would enable you to POSSIBLY get away. Any being that has electrical impulses coming from the brain(Zombies have to or they could not move) can have those Impulses interupted thats how tazers work and so it SHOULD work on zombies.

However since I am a keyboard commando You should test it out FIRST and get back with me

Also would any kind of gas work on them? Yeah, I know, 87 octane ! I meant like CS or whatever. If it did , it could get you some time if you were surrounded or something.

No.

As for questions 2 & 3, you can get these ideas to work as long as you're in England, as done in Shaun of the Dead.

Ahhhhh, Thank you Sir! Them zombies are pretty tough things. I guess I'll just stick with simple and easy to operate firearms and give up on the rest.

That using zombies as labor idea isnt such a bad idea....

If you recall from the documentary "Day of the Dead", zombies can be conditioned.

It probably wouldnt be such a bad idea, once the situation was contained, to immobilize zombies with nets and whatnot and have people in suits of armor ( shark mesh suits, kevlar, et al ) come in and put collars on them and tethers and then put them on wide treadmills or exercise bikes with their feet chained to the pedals in front of a thick bullet-proof glass wall that had people on the other side.

The wall could be a two-way mirror, too, so the zombies could see the people, but the people couldnt see the zombies.

It would be very good for a post-apocalypse community to have this set up as a renewable power source in lieu of other stuff.

Acting like a zombie wouldnt work, because they dont hunt by eyesight alone.  Like all other things, it's a combination of senses, and you walking like a retard wouldnt fool their undead olfactory senses.

That being said, AK's are best.

1, I think Romero's right.  If the brain's motor function is massively reduced, why would they still maintain the balance and reflexes to run fast??
2.  No
3.  Too damn dangerous.
4.  Probably, but temporary.  Since pain doesn't mean anything as soon as the electricity stops they are at yo ass again.

5.  Yeah I've probably watched too many zombie movies.

And that is ok. I'm due for a zombie marathon myself.Luckily there are a lot to choose from.

Uh, wait until Land of the Dead comes out before you make that statement.  Aren't they supposedly going to evolve into reasoning creatures?

You sir need to invest in "The Zombie Survival Guide". I am reading it right now.

Zombie's sight ability doesn't seem to work as well once dead, but they do respond well to the smell of living humans and react to noises.

The zombie powered electrical generators is a brilliant idea.

Yes they are suppose to have advanced in LOTD but to date we haven't seen this strain of Zombie.

Up until this point the only Zombies we've encountered act mostly on smell of living flesh.

It will be interesting to see what Romero has in store for this next generation of Zombie

If they respond well to the SMELL of living humans... then could you not wear a full biohazard suit and spray yourself with different scents that would mask/hide your natural human living flesh scent?

My guess is that they can detect the flow of WARM blood and bodily fluids, like vampires. Essentially the electrical impulses of the brain are still functioning in a zombie, but its heart and living organs are deceased. That means no 98.6F, no warm blood, no bodily fluids, nothing. THe olefactory senses and visual senses are dependent on living tissue AS WELL as the brain.

The eyes will degrade, as will the nerves in the nose due to lack of nutrients. However, we are only using 15% of our brain and the other 85% is still there but we have no way of tapping into it.

A zombie potentially will have other parts working more efficiently, and their other senses might be augmented. So they could potentially detect EMI and maybe the flow of warm blood.
