Service and owners manual for my Cherokee calls for either Dexron IIE or Mercon.
Stopped by a couple of auto supply stores and none had the fluid recommended in the manuals.
Plenty of various brands with Dexron III.

Can I safely substitute Dexron III for dexron II ?
