Since there are so many mixed feelings on these my question is.....
I have an opportunity to get one for $750 NIB. What are the negative and positive aspects of the SA "brand" of the M1A rifle?

Positives: Springfield has probably the best warranty in the business

Negative: They have the best warranty in the business.

Sounds like an awesome price though. Check for things like lopsided receivers and misspelled names on the receiver.

With the money you save you could swap out all the crappy SI parts and put in USGI parts.

Problem solved.

If you don't want it, I'll drive up there and buy it myself!

Smells fishy. Inspect the heck out of it before you turn the money over.

750 is a steal. The thing with SA rifles is that their older ones had U.S.G.I.  parts which are forged and of course preffered.Newer one's may or may not have G.I. parts. The receiver is cast as opposed to the G.I. forged receivers but there's only one company that makes a forged receiver (LRB) and the cast receiver is plenty strong, just not the ultimate.SA has a lifetime warranty and they stand 100% behind it,if you should have an issue they will take care of it. Awhile back they were having a problem with their cast extractors, replace with U.S.G.I. if you have a problem. I have an SA National Match that has never let me down and will put the hurt on anything out to 600 yds +.

A for real SA M1A NIB for $750.00?

I'd be sure to know the dealer or party involved since that's REALLY cheap.

If it's for real that's a DAMN good deal.

Awww, don't listen to these guys. See if you can talk them down to 500.

Seriously, if memory serves my loaded was around 1100. This sounds like it's too good to be true, but check it out well in case it is true.

That's one hell of a deal! Snap that puppy up, you won't regret it! I got mine for 500.00 and a used Browning Hipower, and it came with one synthetic stock, one walnut stock, and one bedded birch stock(all with handguards), sling, 7 20rd magazines, and 200 rounds of ammo. I'll never part with mine!
