Was looking at my desktop pic and all of a sudden it hit me.  Where the heck is the pilot?

Anyway.  Seems like a good excuse to start a "post your desktop" thread.

Oh he's there.

He's just in stealth mode.

actually I think you can see him... the white round thing just down from the top of the canopy looks like the outline of his helmet.... the reflection in the glass obscures it.

Roger that, you can make out his helmet if you look carefully enough.

BTW, DFD has a post-your-desktop thread running right now.  Check it out, there are some pretty decent ones.  ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=343919

When I was a sysadmin, Webshots was the bane of my existence. I resolved more strange issues than I care to remember by removing it. People hated me.

It's kind of a Windows thing. The Linux screenshots have been pretty tidy. Hmmm...

BTW - I'm with you. Keep everything nice and tidy. When I was an on-site service tech back in the day, I discovered that you can learn ALOT about somebody by looking at their desktop. It's wierd.

IT was a color addon I downloaded from tucows.net (i think) It also required a seperate patch to make it work, since I didnt have MS Plus!

It's Windows XP theme called "Chromium", and you can find it under Downloads > Windows > Themes > Windows.

Actually the theme I use is called "Pitch Black" with a different background. When I downloaded it from tucows years ago, it had a link to another site with another download for it to work properly. It looks like that site has moved or changed, And the patch I originally had was for windows XP with out a service pack, there was a seperate patch availible for SP1. I have no idea if the theme would work in SP2, since I dont have it.

I used to run a service department at a large retailer and I have a side business doing computer "stuff" for people and busineses... the way the desktop is and the stuff on it will sum up the user 95% of the time. Its scary how that works. What I loved, was getting a customer arrested for child porn... or seeing some "interesting" file names on a computer of one of my former teachers.

Patch of the file uxtheme.dll. They've got patches for 2k, and all three flavors of XP (XP, XP SP1, XP SP2). You can even download an exe that will automate the patch process for you.  If anyone wants it, just google for patch uxtheme.dll or hit places like www.wincustomize.com

And I guess I'll bogey on this thread as well...
