Customs agent charged after marrying illegal immigrant Associated Press Apr. 15, 2005 04:31 PM TUCSON - A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent was charged with harboring an illegal immigrant because he knew his wife was in the country illegally when he married her. Agent Ramon M. Sanchez, 41, married the woman on Feb. 25. He had known at least since November that she was in the United States illegally, said the U.S. Attorney's Office. He was arrested on Monday and faces up to five years in prison if convicted. Charges should include treason. |
