I knew I shouldn't have put the pie option in there ... but without the car making pie runs is harder.

Lo-Jack is the shizznit if you are in a high-crime are or have a very nice car, and you can get it  (it doesn't seem to be availalbe everywhere). The theft recovery rate is like 99%, within three hours of reporting it to police. Insurance should give you a big discount for installing it. Construction companies use it in equipment and even pallets of supplies, too.

The only place it's not worh much is near Mexico border, because Mexican thieves take cards south and even if you know where it is there you can't get it back.

I will never own a vehicle with an airbag, onstar/lojack or any other tracking device, or any onboard computer management system.

Enjoy paying a mechanic $65-$80/hr to work on your aluminum shitbox for you.

+1 for no airbags, GPS/OnStar/LoJack, or ECM.  Carburator and points work just fine.

If you want your car back in one piece, get it. (Well, assuming it isn't flipped in the pursuit)

If you want to come identify your stripped car in the creekbed, arrange for towing, and deal with the insurance company for a week, don't.

I wouldn't bother putting in my cars, but my VIPER would be different.

Lo Jack with its own battery backup if done right
is almost impossible to find and disable . The signal
can be blocked since it is a radio Hz , but the thief that
has the equipment to do that isn't stealing vehicles
that cost less then a $100K .
