Thinking about buying a new truck. A friend of mine works for ford and told me he will get me a passcode (or whatever the hell it is) so I can buy it under the ford employee A-plan. My question is about how much should I expect to save on a truck that lists in the $32-34,000 range.
For the curious I am looking at something with the following
F150 heavy duty or F250
4wd
biggest engine I can get (I think they have a V-10) but not a diesel, I can't justify the extra expense for a diesel.
Extended cab, standard bed

Unless you are a direct relative you won't be getting A plan (unless they changed something in the last year).  You will probably get an X plan which is about $300-500 below invoice depending on how expensive the vehicle is.  Plus the dealer cannot charge you a documentation fee.  That is how I bought my last truck was X plan.

Go to www.fordvehicles.com and when you price one out it will give you MSRP and Invoice pricing.

tag.

i use my grandfathers Z plan, and will be getting a truck similar to your description in 2 months or so.

for my last truck(2004 f-150), i used the z plan and a military discount. sticker for the truck was ~24k, after discounts and z plan truck was a little over 17k.

edit: youll probably have to go to a big lot to find a V-10. Ive done some looking and havent been able to find one yet. and forget about finding any superduty trucks at the lots with manual trannies
