In keeping with the recent threads Is it immoral to either: 1. Harvest your eggs for infertile couples. OR 2. Be a surrogate mother. |

I don't have extensive information on the inner-workings of fertility clinics, however, don't they inseminate multiple eggs in hopes that at least one egg will develope? Then, the other fertilized eggs are put on "lay-away" and are cryo-genically frozen? I believe that is the way that they do it. Personally, I think life starts at conception and putting 1,000s of souls away in a freezer doesn't sit well with me. So, I'm against fertility clinics not using every single egg that they fertilize. I don't think being a surrogate mother is bad if you haven't destroyed or "lay-awayed" any other fertilized eggs. |
I retract my previous statement. Put me back in the 'immoral' column. I suppose it goes without saying that the 'good old fashioned' way is immoral, no matter the circumstances. |
